Problem to Solve:

We noticed a significant void in the market for publications that combine technology, art, and culture. Existing options are scarce, inaccessible to casual readers, and lack inspiring design.

insight:

When researching other magazines in this genre, I found that the content was too technical and not approachable for the average reader. The designs for these magazines were text dense and felt more scientific than creative. Ortus needed to respond to this magazine landscape by making a strong blend of art with the technology in its design.

solution:

In order to create a more engaging experience, Ortus prioritized visuals over text-heavy layouts. The magazine showcased captivating artwork throughout, with clean lines, strategic white space, and a modern, artistic aesthetic. This shift resulted in a visually calming yet undeniably engaging reading experience.
